I'm excited to roll out a new bracketology feature over at NCAAGameSim.com. This will be unique in that it is completely computer generated daily and many more features will follow. For now, the bracket is predicted and we list the Last Four teams in, First Four out, as well as the Next Four Out.
Check out NCAAGameSim.com Bracketology.
I've only toyed with this over the past couple of days, but consider a few interesting points from just 2 days of reviewing this data.
- Prior to Duke's 73-70 win over FSU the Blue Devils were a 1 seed, but after the close win over the Noles Duke dropped to the top #2 seed.
- NC State and Miami were both in the First Four Out category yesterday but slid into the field today, albeit with matchups in Dayton.
- Back to Duke, yesterday's field had the Blue Devils with a potential 2nd round matchup against Maryland. Totally something the NCAA committee would do.
Known Issues
- First round matchups may have conference opponents facing off. This is on my to do list, but I didn't think it should prevent the release of this.
- Tournament sites are completely ignored. Instead I went with a basic Region 1-4 to keep things simple.
Future Enhancements
- Integrating Game Sim within the bracket to sim a matchup or even the whole tournament.
- Icons to represent day-to-day shifts in a team's seeding.
As always, let me know what you think and remember #GameSimKnowsAll.
